London Stansted Airport Expansion!

When visiting London Stansted Airport, you can expect some changes, which come following record numbers of passengers and a need for more seating areas, new shops and restaurants and enlarged areas to tackle waiting times, check-in desk queues, and issues around baggage reclaim.

A rapidly expanding airport: London Stansted is due to see the UK’s second highest number of passengers pass through its terminal annually and now comes the time to invest and improve some of its facilities to facilitate the huge numbers of jetsetters planning to fly in 2025.

What has been announced?

The main area of expansion and investment goes to the extension of the terminal and at £600 million planned, this will feature some impressive and time-saving features, making life for passengers easier and more enjoyable pre-flight.

Why has this expansion been agreed?

Improved check-in, security, and immigration areas will delight passengers and make way for a smoother and stress-free journey, with reduced waiting times, fewer queues, and enhancements to aid comfort for all.  In addition to the new space and increased capacity, Stansted will serve more flights to new routes, for both business and pleasure, marking improvements for travel requirements.

Meeting growing demand, with its convenient proximity to London and higher than usual level of passengers, this boost is set to more than double capacity to serve demand, whilst also creating jobs, boosting economic growth, and enabling trade, and tourism.
